antitaonu

Antitaonu is a hypothetical antiparticle invoked in certain speculative frameworks of particle physics to pair with a proposed particle called taonu. In these models, taonu is a non-Standard Model particle associated with an extended gauge sector. The term antitaonu denotes the opposite quantum-number partner, predicted to have the same mass and spin but opposite conserved charges. The two would form a particle–antiparticle pair, with possible annihilation into Standard Model bosons or fermions when they meet.

Origin and usage: The term appears in theoretical essays and toy-model discussions intended to explore symmetry principles such as charge conjugation and CP invariance in extended theories. It is not an established particle in the Particle Data Group listings, nor has it been observed experimentally.

Theoretical properties: Because taonu is hypothetical, proposed properties of the antitaonu vary by model. Common assumptions include identical mass to taonu and opposite conserved quantum numbers, such as a hypothetical new charge or color-like quantum number. Interaction strengths are model-dependent; in many constructions, antitaonu would couple to the same force carriers as taonu, enabling mutual annihilation or production in high-energy collisions.

Experimental status: No evidence for antitaonu or taonu has been reported. Collider experiments search for signals of new bosons or fermions in extended sectors; so far, data are compatible with the Standard Model, placing constraints on the mass and couplings of such hypothetical states.
