alofonía
Alofonia is a term used in linguistics to describe the phenomenon where a single phoneme is realized as different, but phonetically related, sounds depending on its phonetic environment. These different realizations are called allophones. For example, in English, the phoneme /p/ has two common allophones: an aspirated [pʰ] sound at the beginning of words like "pin" and an unaspirated [p] sound after an /s/, as in "spin." The choice of allophone is predictable and does not distinguish meaning.
The concept of allophony is fundamental to understanding how speakers of a language perceive and produce speech
