alAghlab is a historical entity that existed in North Africa and Sicily between the 9th and 10th centuries CE. The Aghlabid dynasty, founded by Ibrahim ibn al-Aghlab, was a line of Arab rulers who established their authority in Ifriqiya (modern-day Tunisia and parts of Algeria and Libya) in 800 CE under the Abbasid Caliphate.
