adicionas

Adicionas is a Portuguese verb form. It is the second-person singular present indicative of adicionar (to add). It is used in varieties that employ the pronoun tu, notably in European Portuguese and in some Brazilian dialects. In standard Brazilian Portuguese, the corresponding form with you is adiciona (for você), and tu-adicionas appears mainly in regions where the pronoun tu is common.

Adicionas is a transitive verb: it takes a direct object. Examples: Tu adicionas açúcar ao chá. Você adiciona sal à sopa. The sense covers literal addition—ingredients to a mixture or substances in science—as well as figurative uses, such as adding items to a list or adding value to a proposal.

It belongs to the regular -ar conjugation in present indicative: eu adiciono, tu adicionas, ele adiciona, nós adicionamos, vocês adicionam, eles adicionam.

In instruction and manuals, the imperative forms are common: adiciona (tu) or adicione (você). The noun related form is adição; related processes may be called adição or adicionamento.
