Acetiltartalom, commonly known as acetyl content, refers to the presence of acetyl groups (CH₃CO–) in various chemical compounds, particularly in organic chemistry. These groups are derived from acetic acid and play a crucial role in numerous biochemical and industrial processes. In organic synthesis, acetyl groups are often introduced through acetylation, a reaction where an acetyl donor (such as acetic anhydride or acetyl chloride) reacts with a substrate, typically a hydroxyl (–OH) or amino (–NH₂) group.

Acetyl groups are found in many natural and synthetic compounds, including pharmaceuticals, flavors, and fragrances. The analysis of acetyl content in a compound is often performed using techniques like nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy or infrared (IR) spectroscopy, which can detect the characteristic absorption bands associated with acetyl groups. Industrial applications of acetylated compounds span from textiles (where they improve dyeability) to agriculture (as crop protectants). Proper handling and storage are necessary due to the reactivity of acetyl groups, which can undergo hydrolysis or other side reactions under certain conditions.
