Zgadzam

Zgadzam is the first-person singular present tense form of the Polish verb zgadzać się, which means to agree or to concur. In standard usage, it occurs as part of the full expression ja zgadzam się, meaning I agree. The form zgadzam supplies the first-person stem for present-tense conjugation across different subjects within the reflexive construction.

Etymology and form. The root zgod- is linked to the noun zgoda, meaning accord or consent, and to related words in the same semantic field. The verb zgadzać się is imperfective and describes an overall act of agreeing, while its non-reflexive stem zgadz- appears in several person forms with the paralleled ending -am in the first person singular. Polite or formal speech often combines the form with the reflexive pronoun się to express agreement.

Usage. Zgadzam (as part of ja zgadzam się) is used to express agreement with a statement, plan, or proposition. It is common in conversation, debates, negotiations, and everyday exchanges.
