Ympäristöetiset

Ympäristöetiset, or environmental ethics, is a branch of philosophy that studies the ethical relationship between human beings and the natural environment. It explores the moral standing of non-human entities, such as animals, plants, ecosystems, and the planet as a whole. This field examines questions about our responsibilities towards the environment, the value of nature, and the principles that should guide our actions concerning environmental issues.

Key concepts within environmental ethics include anthropocentrism, which posits that humans are the central or most significant entities in the universe; biocentrism, which extends moral consideration to all living organisms; and ecocentrism, which emphasizes the intrinsic value of ecological systems and their components.
