Yliäänilentämisen
Yliäänilentäminen refers to flight exceeding the speed of sound, approximately 1,235 kilometers per hour at sea level. This phenomenon is categorized into three regimes: subsonic, transonic, and supersonic. Subsonic speeds are below Mach 1, transonic speeds are around Mach 1 where airflow can be both subsonic and supersonic, and supersonic speeds are above Mach 1. At hypersonic speeds, above Mach 5, unique aerodynamic and thermal effects become significant.
The development of supersonic flight began in the mid-20th century, with the Bell X-1 breaking the sound
Key challenges in supersonic flight include managing shock waves, which are abrupt pressure changes that propagate
