Yalu
Yalu commonly refers to the Yalu River (also known as the Amnok River), a major watercourse in Northeast Asia that forms part of the border between North Korea and China. The river originates in the Changbai Mountains on the Chinese–North Korean border region, and flows about 795 kilometers (495 miles) west and north to its mouth in the Yellow Sea opposite Sinuiju, North Korea. Throughout history, the river has served as a natural boundary and a route for trade and military movements. During the Korean War, the Yalu River marked the boundary of the fighting area and was the scene of Chinese intervention in 1950.
Yalu is also the name of a jailbreak project for Apple’s iOS devices released in 2017 by
