Xroad
X-Road is an open-source data exchange layer designed to enable secure, standardized sharing of data between information systems across organizational boundaries. It was developed in Estonia in the early 2000s to support e-government services and cross-institutional data interoperability, and has since been adopted by several other countries and organizations. The platform is governed by the X-Road Foundation and national bodies that set participation rules, service registries, and security policies.
