Whitesnake

Whitesnake is a British rock band formed in 1978 in London by vocalist David Coverdale after his departure from Deep Purple. The group developed a blues-inflected hard rock sound and became known for Coverdale's powerful vocals and a succession of guitar-driven anthems. Over its history, Whitesnake has undergone numerous personnel changes, with Coverdale as the only constant member.

In its early years, Whitesnake released a string of albums that cultivated a dedicated following in the United Kingdom and Europe, including Trouble (1978) and Saints & Sinners (1982). The band's sound matured with the 1984 release Slide It In, which was produced to appeal to a broader audience in the United States. The worldwide breakthrough came with the 1987 self-titled album Whitesnake, which featured hit singles such as Here I Go Again and Is This Love, helping to launch the band to international fame and solidify its status as a leading act in late-1980s hard rock. A follow-up, Slip of the Tongue (1990), continued the band’s hard rock approach with prominent guitar work.

Whitesnake is recognized for its influence on the hard rock and glam metal eras, notable for anthemic ballads and guitar-centric anthems. The band remains active with periodic studio releases and tours, continuing to perform and record across decades.
