Wettenhausen

Wettenhausen is a district of the town of Ichenhausen in the Swabian district of Günzburg, Bavaria, Germany. It is situated in the western part of Bavaria, approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Ulm. The village lies in the fertile Mindeltal, the valley of the Mindel river, a tributary of the Danube.

Historically, Wettenshausen was an independent municipality before its incorporation into Ichenhausen in 1978. The area has evidence of settlement dating back to Roman times, though its prominent development began in the Middle Ages. A significant landmark in Wettenshausen is the former Augustinian monastery, Kloster Wettenshausen, which was founded in the 11th century. The monastery church, with its impressive Baroque architecture, is a testament to the region's rich religious and architectural heritage.

The economy of Wettenshausen is primarily agricultural, benefiting from the surrounding fertile land.
