Võrgupakettide

Võrgupakettide is the Estonian term for network packets. A network packet is a small portion of a larger message transmitted over a network. It is the fundamental unit of data communication in most modern computer networks, including the internet.

Each packet contains two main parts: a header and a payload. The header holds crucial information for routing the packet to its destination, such as source and destination IP addresses, port numbers, and sequence numbers. The payload, on the other hand, contains the actual data being transmitted, such as a piece of an email, a part of a web page, or a segment of a video stream.

When data is sent across a network, it is broken down into multiple packets. These packets travel independently through the network, potentially taking different routes. At the receiving end, the packets are reassembled in the correct order to reconstruct the original message. This packet-switching approach allows for efficient use of network resources and resilience, as data can still reach its destination even if some parts of the network are congested or temporarily unavailable. Protocols like TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and UDP (User Datagram Protocol) manage the creation, transmission, and reassembly of these võrgupakettide.
