Võimalustas is an Estonian term that translates to "opportunity fee" or "opportunity cost." It refers to the value of the next best alternative that must be forgone to pursue a certain action. In simpler terms, it's what you give up when you make a choice.

The concept of opportunity cost is fundamental in economics and decision-making. It highlights that resources, whether they are time, money, or effort, are scarce. Therefore, every decision involves a trade-off. When an individual or an organization chooses one option, they are simultaneously choosing not to pursue other available options. The value of the most attractive forgone option is the opportunity cost.

Similarly, if a company invests in one project, the opportunity cost is the potential profit from the next best investment that was not chosen.
