Víðgelmir
Víðgelmir is a lava tube located in southwestern Iceland, within the Hallmundarhraun lava field. It is one of the largest lava tubes in Iceland, measuring approximately 1580 meters in length. The lava tube was formed by a volcanic eruption that occurred several thousand years ago. The name Víðgelmir translates to "wide cave" in Old Norse, reflecting its substantial size.
The interior of Víðgelmir features impressive lava formations, including stalactites and stalagmites, as well as other
