Väderöarna

Väderöarna is an archipelago off the coast of Bohuslän, Sweden. It belongs to Västra Götaland County and Strömstad Municipality and lies in the outer part of Skagerrak, west of the Swedish mainland. The largest island in the group is Väderön, which lends its name to the archipelago. The landscape is rocky and exposed, with pine and juniper heath and sheltered coves.

The archipelago comprises dozens of small islands and reefs; access is mainly by boat during the summer months. The outer islands host Väderöarna Lighthouse, a notable landmark guiding ships along this part of the coast.

The area is known for its natural value. The surrounding waters and land host breeding seabirds and migratory birds, and grey seals may be found in the vicinity. The area is protected as a nature reserve to preserve coastal habitats, biodiversity, and the scenic landscape.
