Volzhsky

Volzhsky is a city in Volgograd Oblast, Russia, located on the Volga River opposite the city of Volgograd. It is part of the Volgograd metropolitan area and serves as a regional urban center. The population is about 240,000 to 250,000 residents.

Volzhsky originated in the mid-20th century as a planned industrial city built to support large-scale enterprises along the Volga. It grew rapidly in the Soviet era and developed a diversified urban economy, continuing to expand its infrastructure and services into the present.
