Volnovakhas is a geographical and historical region located in southeastern Ukraine. It is part of the Donetsk Oblast and its administrative center is the city of Volnovakha. The region is situated in the steppe zone, characterized by rolling plains and fertile black soil, historically known as Chernozem.
