Voimaosakeyhtiö
Voimaosakeyhtiö, meaning "Power Company Limited" in Finnish, was a Finnish state-owned enterprise established in 1931. Its primary purpose was to manage and develop the state's electricity generation and distribution infrastructure. The company played a crucial role in electrifying rural areas of Finland and ensuring a stable energy supply for the nation. Over the decades, Voimaosakeyhtiö expanded its operations significantly, investing in new power plants and transmission lines.
In 1995, Voimaosakeyhtiö underwent a significant transformation when it was merged with Imatran Voima Oy (IVO)
