Vohenstrauss

Vohenstrauss is a town in Bavaria, Germany, located in the Upper Palatinate region of Bavaria. It is situated on the Waldnaab river, approximately 15 kilometers northwest of Weiden in der Oberpfalz and 25 kilometers southwest of the Czech border. The town is part of the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab.

Historically, Vohenstrauss gained prominence through its glass industry. The town was once a significant center for glass production, with several glassworks operating in the area for many decades. This heritage is still visible in the town's identity and some of its local businesses. Today, while the large-scale glass manufacturing has diminished, remnants of this industrial past can be observed.
