Viruspartikel
Viruspartikel, also known as virions, are the complete, infectious form of a virus outside of a host cell. They are acellular entities, meaning they are not considered living organisms because they lack the machinery for independent reproduction and metabolism. A viruspartikel is essentially a package of genetic material, either DNA or RNA, enclosed within a protective protein coat called a capsid. Some viruses also possess an outer lipid envelope derived from the host cell membrane during the budding process.
