Virtsanpidätyksen
Virtsanpidätyksen, also known as urinary continence, refers to the ability to voluntarily control the release of urine from the bladder. This complex physiological process involves the coordinated action of the bladder muscle (detrusor), the sphincter muscles, and the nervous system. The bladder stores urine produced by the kidneys. When the bladder fills to a certain capacity, stretch receptors send signals to the brain, creating the sensation of needing to urinate. At this point, voluntary control can either inhibit the urge or allow for urination to occur.
The process of urination, or micturition, is initiated by voluntary relaxation of the external urethral sphincter
Disruptions in any part of this system can lead to urinary incontinence, a condition characterized by involuntary
