Viestinvälitysmalleja, also known as message queuing or message brokering, refers to architectural patterns used in software development to facilitate communication between different parts of an application or between different applications. These models decouple the sender of a message from the receiver, allowing them to operate independently. The core idea is to use an intermediary, often called a message broker or message queue, that stores messages until the recipient is ready to process them.

There are several common viestinvälitysmalleja. The point-to-point model, often implemented using queues, ensures that a message is delivered to and processed by only one consumer. This is useful for tasks that should only be performed once, such as processing an order. Furthermore, they facilitate asynchronous communication, meaning the sender doesn't have to wait for the receiver to process the message, leading to better performance and responsiveness.
