Vektoradás

Vektoradás is a term of Hungarian origin that translates to "vector addition." It refers to the mathematical operation of adding two or more vectors. Vectors are mathematical objects that possess both magnitude and direction, often represented graphically by an arrow. In physics and engineering, vectors are used to describe quantities such as force, velocity, and displacement.

The process of vector addition can be visualized geometrically. One common method is the tip-to-tail method, where the tail of the second vector is placed at the tip of the first vector. The resultant vector is then drawn from the tail of the first vector to the tip of the second vector. Alternatively, vectors can be added algebraically by summing their corresponding components. If vector A has components (Ax, Ay) and vector B has components (Bx, By), then their sum, vector C, will have components (Ax + Bx, Ay + By). This component-wise addition extends to vectors with more dimensions.

Vektoradás is a fundamental concept in linear algebra and has wide-ranging applications. It is used to determine the net effect of multiple forces acting on an object, to calculate the resultant velocity when combining velocities from different sources, and to analyze displacements in navigation and surveying.
