Vedelkütuste

Vedelkütuste is a term in Estonian that translates to "liquid fuels." This category encompasses a wide range of flammable substances that exist in a liquid state at standard temperature and pressure, and are primarily used as a source of energy. The most common and widely recognized liquid fuels are derived from petroleum, including gasoline, diesel fuel, and jet fuel. These are produced through the refining process of crude oil.

Beyond petroleum-based fuels, other important liquid fuels include biofuels. These are derived from biomass, such as vegetable oils (like rapeseed or soybean oil) and animal fats, or from fermentation processes that produce ethanol. Biodiesel and bioethanol are examples of biofuels that can be used in internal combustion engines, often blended with conventional petroleum fuels.

Liquid fuels are crucial for transportation, powering cars, trucks, ships, and airplanes. They are also used in industrial processes, for heating homes and buildings, and for generating electricity in some power plants.
