Vastseliina

Vastseliina is a village in southeastern Estonia, located in Võru County. It serves as the administrative centre of the former Vastseliina Parish.

The village has medieval roots and hosts two notable landmarks: the ruins of Vastseliina Castle, a Livonian Order fortress dating to the 14th century, and Vastseliina Church, a historic church dating from the 15th century. The castle ruins and the church are protected cultural monuments.

In modern administration, Vastseliina was the centre of the rural municipality Vastseliina Parish before the 2017 reform; after reform the parish became part of Võru County's larger municipal structure.

The village is small with a rural economy based on agriculture and forestry, and it is connected by regional roads to nearby towns; bus services link residents to Võru and other centers.
