Valaisutusohjaus

Valaisutusohjaus refers to a method of slope management in ski resorts and alpine terrain. It involves adjusting the alignment and density of the woodworking bands or huts, which are used to create the piste by artificially widening the slope, depending on the snow cover and the direction of skiers.

Valaisutusohjaus is specifically designed for slopes that are sensitive to weather conditions, or where compact wall construction is necessary. The huts are installed on both sides of the piste at regular intervals with a wire rope or snow cable system. This allows for easy repair and maintenance of the slope, and remains stable even when snow fall exacerbates the slope's alignment, or when the piste is groomed multiple times.

The installation of a valaisutusohjaus requires detailed planning in advance. Factors such as wind direction, snow consistency, and usage of the slope are taken into consideration in the construction phase to ensure the stability of the slope and the surrounding environment.
