Vaiheenkääntyminen

Vaiheenkääntyminen, a Finnish term, translates to phase transition in English. It describes a physical process where a thermodynamic system changes from one state to another. This transformation occurs when external conditions, such as temperature, pressure, or magnetic field, are altered. Common examples include the melting of ice into water or the boiling of water into steam. During a phase transition, certain physical properties of the substance change abruptly.

Examples include melting, boiling, and sublimation.
