Urosliitin
Urosliitin is a group of natural compounds belonging to the class of ellagitannins. These compounds are primarily found in certain plants, most notably in berries such as pomegranates and strawberries, as well as in nuts like walnuts and pecans. Urosliitins are not directly present in the plants themselves but are formed in the gut through the microbial metabolism of ellagitannins. When ellagitannins are consumed, gut bacteria hydrolyze them into urolithins.
There are several different types of urolithins, with urolithin A being the most extensively studied. Research
