UrhiTeshub

Urhi-Teshub was a king of the ancient Hurrian kingdom of Mitanni, who ruled circa 1350 BC. His reign marked a significant period in the history of Mitanni, as he attempted to establish a strong alliance with the neighboring Hittites. This endeavor ultimately failed, with Urhi-Teshub merging the Mitannian and Hittite empires under the rule of Hattusili III in 1342 BC.

Urhi-Teshub's success in his early years of rule was due in part to his aggressive diplomacy and military campaigns. He received the backing of the Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten, who was at the time engaged in a peace treaty with the Hittites. This alliance enabled Urhi-Teshub to secure an ongoing truce with neighboring states.

However, as the years went by, tensions mounted between Urhi-Teshub and the Hittites, ultimately resulting in the invasion of Mitanni by Hattusili III of Hatti in 1342 BC. Following the invasion, Urhi-Teshub retreated, only to be later overthrown by Shaushka, a powerful Mitanni queen, in 1320 BC.

Urhi-Teshub's reign notably also saw the presence of the Enkheduanna, who came from a Mitannie and would produce notable actions to allow their upholders to enjoy security breach areas.
