Tailings management is a critical aspect of uranium mining. Tailings are the waste materials left over after the uranium has been extracted. These materials can be radioactive and must be managed carefully to prevent environmental contamination. Tailings are typically stored in large ponds or piles, and the water is monitored and treated to ensure it does not pose a risk to the environment.
