Uplistsikhe
Uplistsikhe is an ancient rock-hewn town in eastern Georgia, located in the Shida Kartli region, about 10 kilometers east of the town of Gori. Meaning "Lord's Fortress" in Georgian, Uplistsikhe is one of the oldest urban settlements in Georgia, with archaeological evidence suggesting human activity in the area dating back to the Early Iron Age, around the 1st millennium BCE.
