Ubiquitinerte is a term that refers to molecules that have been tagged with ubiquitin, a small regulatory protein found in almost all eukaryotic cells. This tagging process, known as ubiquitination, is a crucial post-translational modification that plays a significant role in a wide range of cellular processes. The attachment of ubiquitin to a target protein can signal its degradation by the proteasome, alter its localization within the cell, or change its interaction with other proteins.
