Tüdszövet

Tüdszövet, also known as lung tissue, refers to the biological material that makes up the lungs in vertebrates. It is a complex and vital organ system responsible for respiration, the process of gas exchange between the body and the environment. The primary function of lung tissue is to facilitate the intake of oxygen and the removal of carbon dioxide.

Structurally, lung tissue is characterized by a vast network of airways and microscopic air sacs called alveoli. The airways, which include the trachea, bronchi, and bronchioles, progressively branch to deliver air deep into the lungs. The alveoli are thin-walled, balloon-like structures where the actual exchange of gases occurs. Oxygen from inhaled air diffuses across the alveolar and capillary walls into the bloodstream, while carbon dioxide, a waste product of metabolism, diffuses from the blood into the alveoli to be exhaled.

Beyond the alveoli, lung tissue also comprises blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. These components support the structure and function of the lungs, facilitating nutrient and oxygen supply to the lung cells, waste removal, and the coordination of breathing. The elasticity of lung tissue allows for expansion and contraction during inhalation and exhalation. Various diseases and conditions can affect the integrity and function of tüdszövet, leading to respiratory problems.
