Tullverkets
Tullverket, or Swedish Customs, is the government agency responsible for border control, customs duties, excise taxes, and anti-smuggling in Sweden. Operating under the Ministry of Finance, it enforces national and EU customs rules for goods entering or leaving Sweden, and collects duties on imports from outside the EU, as well as VAT and excise taxes on products such as alcohol, tobacco, and energy.
The agency conducts risk-based inspections at points of entry—airports, seaports, border crossings—and along the supply chain
Tullverket also pursues customs offenses, combats smuggling and counterfeit goods, and enforces trade restrictions, employing investigators
For traders and travelers, Tullverket provides information and digital services for declarations, permits, and duty payments.
