Tukaevsky
Tukaevsky is a town located in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It is situated on the left bank of the Terek River, approximately 100 kilometers southeast of Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan. The town is named after the nearby Tukaevsky Reservoir, which was created in the 1960s for hydroelectric power generation and irrigation purposes. The reservoir is a popular destination for fishing and recreational activities.
Tukaevsky has a population of around 10,000 people, with a majority of the residents being ethnic Daghestani.
