Trudeaus
Trudeaus refers to people bearing the Trudeau surname, most notably a Canadian political family of French-Canadian origin. The name is associated with Quebec and with public life in Canada from the mid-20th century onward. The best-known members are Pierre Elliott Trudeau (1919–2000) and his son Justin Trudeau (born 1971). Pierre Trudeau served as Prime Minister of Canada from 1968 to 1979 and again from 1980 to 1984. His governments pursued constitutional reform, bilingualism, and the modernization of the Canadian state, including the Official Languages Act (1969) and the patriation of the Constitution with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms (1982). Margaret Trudeau was his wife during his tenure as prime minister.
