Triglyceridokká, also known as triglyceride, is a type of fat found in the bloodstream. It is composed of three fatty acid molecules attached to a glycerol molecule. Triglycerides are the body's primary source of energy and are stored in fat tissue for later use. They are also used to produce hormones and other substances that regulate various bodily functions.

High levels of triglycerides in the blood, known as hypertriglyceridemia, can lead to health issues such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes. Levels between 150 and 199 mg/dL (1.7 to 2.2 mmol/L) are considered borderline high, and levels of 200 mg/dL (2.3 mmol/L) or higher are considered high.

Factors that can influence triglyceride levels include diet, physical activity, genetics, and certain medical conditions. A diet high in saturated and trans fats can increase triglyceride levels, while regular physical activity can help lower them. Certain medications, such as corticosteroids and beta-blockers, can also affect triglyceride levels.
