Tricúspide
Tricúspide refers to a valve within the heart, specifically the tricuspid valve. This valve is one of the four main valves of the heart and is located between the right atrium and the right ventricle. Its primary function is to ensure unidirectional blood flow, preventing the backflow of blood from the right ventricle into the right atrium during ventricular contraction (systole). The tricuspid valve is composed of three leaflets or cusps, hence its name "tricúspide." These leaflets open to allow blood to flow from the right atrium into the right ventricle and close tightly to prevent regurgitation when the ventricle pumps blood to the lungs.
Problems with the tricuspid valve can lead to a condition known as tricuspid regurgitation, where the valve
