Trapezová

Trapezová is a term that can refer to several related concepts, primarily in geometry and anatomy. In geometry, a trapezová refers to a trapezoid, a quadrilateral with at least one pair of parallel sides. This shape is also known as a trapezium in some regions. The parallel sides are called bases, and the non-parallel sides are called legs. Various formulas exist to calculate the area, perimeter, and other properties of trapezoids depending on their specific type, such as isosceles trapezoids or right trapezoids.

Beyond geometry, trapezová can also refer to the trapezius muscle in anatomy. This is a large paired muscle that covers the upper back and neck and is responsible for moving the shoulder blades, supporting the arm, and rotating the head. The trapezius muscle is divided into three sections: upper, middle, and lower, each with distinct functions. Exercises targeting this muscle group are common in strength training and rehabilitation. The term's etymology traces back to the Greek word for "table," alluding to the trapezoidal shape of the muscle.
