Transaktionszustand refers to the current status of a financial transaction. It indicates whether a transaction is pending, completed, failed, or has been cancelled. Understanding transaction states is crucial for tracking financial activities and resolving discrepancies.

When a transaction is initiated, it typically enters a pending state. This means the transaction has been submitted but not yet fully processed by the relevant financial institutions or systems. During the pending phase, funds may be temporarily held or reserved. The duration of this state can vary depending on the complexity of the transaction and the systems involved.

A transaction moves to a completed state once it has been successfully processed and settled. This signifies that funds have been transferred from the source to the destination and the transaction is finalized. Completed transactions are usually recorded permanently in account histories.

Conversely, a failed transaction occurs when the transaction cannot be processed successfully. Common reasons for failure include insufficient funds, incorrect account information, security checks, or system errors. Failed transactions do not result in any fund transfer and may require the initiator to rectify the issue and attempt the transaction again.

Finally, a cancelled transaction is one that was initiated but then deliberately stopped before completion. This can be done by the user or by the financial institution under certain circumstances. Cancelled transactions are also non-conclusive, similar to failed ones, but the intent to stop the transaction was active. Monitoring these states helps users and businesses maintain accurate financial records.
