Topienie

Topienie is a Polish noun meaning the process of melting, the transition of a solid into a liquid when heat is applied. It is derived from the verb topić, to melt, with the noun-forming suffix -enie.

In scientific contexts, topienie describes phase changes from solid to liquid. The related concept of the melting point (punkt topnienia) is the temperature at which a material begins to melt under given pressure.
