Toisellian
Toisellian refers to a period in Earth's history, specifically within the geological timescale. It is a division of the late Silurian Period, which itself is part of the Paleozoic Era. The Toisellian epoch is characterized by specific geological strata and fossil assemblages that distinguish it from the preceding and succeeding epochs. Dating of rocks from this time allows geologists to correlate and understand the environmental conditions and life forms present.
The Toisellian epoch followed the Gorstian and preceded the Pridoli, both also subdivisions of the Silurian.
