Theodoret

Theodoret of Cyrus (c. 393 – c. 457) was a prominent Byzantine bishop of Cyrus in Syria, and a leading theologian and church historian associated with the Antiochene school. A native of the Levant, he became bishop of Cyrus around 423 and led an active pastoral and scholarly life in a period of intense doctrinal controversy.
