Telefe

Telefe, short for Televisión Federal, is a major Argentine free-to-air television network and the flagship channel of the Telefe Group. It is one of the oldest and most widely watched broadcasters in Argentina, known for delivering a mix of news, entertainment, and serialized programming.

The network traces its origins to Televisión Federal, a broadcasting company established in the mid-20th century. Telefe began regular transmissions in Buenos Aires in the late 1950s and expanded to a nationwide network of affiliated stations. Over the decades it developed a broad lineup that includes telenovelas, game shows, reality programs, sports coverage, and national and international news.

Telefe is currently owned by Paramount Global (formerly ViacomCBS) and operates as part of the Telefe Group. The network maintains a News division, Telefe Noticias, and distributes content through Telefe Internacional for audiences outside Argentina. In addition to its flagship channel, the group oversees a range of local productions, regional affiliates, and digital platforms. Telefe also participates in content distribution and production partnerships within Argentina and across Latin America.

Programming on Telefe spans general entertainment, primetime dramas, talk and variety shows, reality formats, and daily news coverage.
