Tasakaalunärv

Tasakaalunärv, also known as the vestibular nerve, is a crucial component of the human nervous system responsible for maintaining balance and spatial orientation. It is one of the two vestibular-acoustic nerves, originating in the inner ear and transmitting sensory information to the brain. The inner ear houses complex structures, including the semicircular canals and the otolith organs, which detect head movements and position relative to gravity.

These sensory organs contain specialized hair cells that are stimulated by the movement of fluid or tiny crystals within them. This stimulation generates electrical signals that are then transmitted along the fibers of the vestibular nerve.
