Tartuntakykyä is a Finnish term that translates to "infectivity" or "contagiousness" in English. It refers to the ability of a pathogen, such as a virus, bacterium, or parasite, to spread from one host to another. This property is crucial in understanding how infectious diseases emerge, propagate, and are controlled.

The infectivity of a pathogen is influenced by several factors.
