Tarshish
Tarshish is a location mentioned in the Bible, specifically in the Old Testament. It is first referenced in the Book of Genesis, where it is described as a distant land to the west of the Garden of Eden. The name Tarshish is also used in the Book of Ezekiel, where it is associated with the land of Cush and the region of the Philistines. In the Book of Kings, Tarshish is mentioned in connection with the construction of Solomon's Temple, as the source of the cedar trees used in its construction. The exact location of Tarshish is a matter of debate among scholars, with some suggesting it may have been in modern-day Lebanon or Syria, while others propose it could have been in the Iberian Peninsula or even North Africa. Despite the uncertainty surrounding its exact location, Tarshish remains an important figure in the history and mythology of the ancient Near East.
