Tarmväggens
Tarmväggens refers to the wall of the intestine. This structure is a crucial component of the digestive system, responsible for a variety of functions. It is composed of several layers, each with a specific role. The innermost layer is the mucosa, which secretes digestive enzymes and absorbs nutrients. Beneath the mucosa is the submucosa, containing blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. The muscularis externa, responsible for peristalsis, the wave-like muscle contractions that move food through the digestive tract, lies outside the submucosa. Finally, the outermost layer is the serosa, a protective membrane.
