Tapwrit

Tapwrit is an American Thoroughbred racehorse foaled in 2014. He was sired by Tapit, one of the leading American sires, and was trained by Todd Pletcher. He is best known for winning the Belmont Stakes in 2017, the third leg of the U.S. Triple Crown, run at Belmont Park in New York over a distance of 1.5 miles on dirt. In that race, Tapwrit defeated a field of other three-year-olds to secure a first Grade 1 victory.

During his racing career, Tapwrit competed in several major races at three and beyond, earning a reputation as a solid stakes competitor in the United States. He is part of Tapit’s notable progeny line, contributing to the sire’s status as a dominant influence in modern Thoroughbred racing.

The Belmont Stakes is one of the most prestigious races in American horse racing, and Tapwrit’s victory added to the lineage of Tapit-sired performers who have achieved success at the highest levels of the sport.
